Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan met Congress party president Rahul Gandhi, in New Delhi on Wednesday.
“Enjoyed meeting @ikamalhaasan in Delhi today. We discussed a wide range of issues concerning our two parties, including the political situation in Tamil Nadu,” wrote Gandhi on Twitter.

He was in Delhi to meet the Deputy Election Commissioner, Chandra Bhushan to officially register his party, ‘Makkal Needhi Maiam.’ Haasan launched his political party in February and revealed the flag which bears 6 red and white arms and a star in the middle.
“Election Commission had sought certain queries regarding our party. We have furnished all those details today. EC has said that very soon, the recognition to the party will be given,” Haasan said to media personnel following his meeting with Chandra Bhushan.
The actor-politician has also returned as the host of season 2 of Big Boss in Tamil and will also be seen in his upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2.
In addition to the work being done on his pending films, the actor has also been active in the political sphere, even condemning the government’s actions following the Thoothukudi Sterlite protest and shootings.
Earlier in the week, Haasan had tweeted to Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy appreciating the latter’s decision to release water from Kabini dam.
“Spoke to @CMofKarnataka . Expressed My pleasure on the opening of Kabini. Ultimately even after the Cauvery water management Authority starts functioning, only goodwill between the two States will open many more shut doors,” he said.

He had earlier met the Karnataka Chief Minister to discuss the Cauvery issue.
