Sealdah factory fire doused, none injured

A fire that broke out at a factory in the busy Sealdah area in east-central part of the city this afternoon, was brought under control after over one and half hours of fire fight, fire brigade officials said.

At least 17 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze, which was reported at around 3.30 PM, they said.

The fire was brought under control at 5.10 PM, the officials said adding, no one was injured in the incident.

The factory, where umbrella handles are manufactured, is located at 15, South Sealdah Road near the the Sales Tax building, a congested residential area.
