Dubbing the Congress-Samajwadi Party slogan ?UP ko saath pasand hai? as ?ridiculous?, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said

Uttar Pradesh will reject the ?bhrastachari? (corrupt) and ?gundachari? ( goons) in the upcoming assembly polls.

?This is a very ridiculous slogan of the Congress and Samajwadi Party. How can Uttar Pradesh like this coalition? One is bhrastachari (corrupt) and another is gundachari ( goon). So. the people of Uttar Pradesh will reject them because they want freedom from the corrupt and goons. They want development. For that there is grand alliance with the BJP and the people of Uttar Pradesh,? BJP leader Siddharthnath Singh told ANI.

Singh alleged that the grand old party has looted Rs. 12 lakh crores during its regime.

?Gundachari is the one who has sold Uttar Pradesh in the hands of the goons…it is the Samajwadi Party. The cycle now does not have the hand of Mulayam Singh. It has the hand of the corrupt and the goons are sitting on it. The goon is riding the cycle and he is holding the hand of the corrupt. So, there is no need of such people in Uttar Pradesh,? he added.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address a joint conference later today following a road show.

A joint poster with the slogan ‘UP ko yeh saath pasand hai’ having the pictures of both Rahul and Akhilesh and their respective party symbols will also be released during the conference.

The Congress has fielded its candidates in 105 seats while the ruling Samajwadi Party will battle it out in 298 seats.

Uttar Pradesh will be voting for a new state assembly in a seven-phase election between February 11 and March 8.
