The western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic

circulation extending upto 3.1 kms a.s.l. over north Pakistan

and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir has moved away

east-northeastwards. However, the associated trough now runs

with its axis at 5.8 kms a. s. l. roughly along Long. 88 E

to the north of Lat. 22 N. A western disturbance as an upper

air cyclonic circulation extending upto 3.1 kms a. s. l. lies

over central parts of Iran and neighbourhood. Above two

systems are likely to move east-northeastwards.

The induced cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar

Pradesh and neighbourhood has become less marked. However, a

trough at 2.1 kms a. s. l. runs from northern parts of

Jharkhand to Vidarbha. The trough of low at mean sea level

from Gulf of Mannar off north Tamil Nadu coast now runs from

Comorin area to north Konkan coast with the cyclonic

circulation aloft extending upto 2.1 kms a. s. l. The trough

of low at mean sea level over southeast Arabian Sea and

adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean has merged with the above

trough. The cyclonic circulation over Bangla Desh and

neighbourhood has become less marked.

Cold wave conditions prevailed in some parts of west

Madhya Pradesh. Night temperatures were appreciably below

normal in some parts of Vidarbha and in remaining parts of

west Madhya Pradesh and were below normal in some parts of

Odisha, east Madhya Pradesh and of Marathwada. They were

appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of

Rayalaseema and of Tamil Nadu; appreciably above normal in

some parts of West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar,

interior Karnataka and of Kerala and were above normal in some

parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura,

Assam and Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and

Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west

Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh,

coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and of coastal Karnataka.

They were normal over the rest of the country. The lowest

minimum temperature recorded over the plains was 6.0 C at

Damoh and Rewa (east Madhya Pradesh).

Dense fog (visibility . 200m) occurred at isolated

places over Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, west

Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh and shallow to moderate fog

(visibility . 500m) occurred at isolated places over Haryana,

Chandigarh and Delhi in the morning hours.
