New Delhi: Congress on Thursday accused the BJP of humiliating party president Rahul Gandhi by allotting a seat in the fourth row for the Republic Day parade at India Gate.

The party claims that earlier, former party president Sonia Gandhi was given a seat is the first row. This this the first Republic Day since becoming Congress president.

However, Congress sources said that despite the humiliation, Rahul will still attend the ceremony.

The party claims the leader of the opposition is always allotted a seat in the front row for the parade. During UPA regime, LK Advani was always allotted a seat in the front row when he was leader of the opposition, Congress said.
