Jet Airways Goa-Mumbai flight with 161 on-board veers off runway, 15 passengers injured

At least 15 people were injured after a Jet Airways flight from Goa to Mumbai skidded off the runway at Goa’s Dabolim airport on Tuesday morning while aligning for takeoff.

“All passengers are safely evacuated, while some suffered minor injuries during the process”, Jet Airways said in a statement.

According to ANI, 15 out of 154 passengers have being taken to hospital.

“We regret to inform that flight 9W 2374 from GOI – BOM, with 154 guests ​and 7 crew, veered off the runway while aligning for takeoff,” it added.

“All guests and crew have been safely evacuated. Few guests have sustained injuries during the evacuation process. Medical assistance is being coordinated to those injured by the Jet Airways team and the airport authorities,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, airport operations have been closed till 12.30 pm.

In May, Jet Airways 9W 2793 aircraft commencing from Delhi to Indore had also skid off the runway.
