Following actor Trisha’s Twitter account allegedly being hacked, her mother Uma Krishnan filed a complaint on Monday at the Chennai police commissioner’s office asking for protection for the, reported The Times of India.
Uma Krishnan said that Trisha was not a very active campaigner for PETA. She told TOI that since her school days, she has been a dog lover. She had collaborated with PETA for a photo shoot to adopt stay dogs and it had a good reach.
She added that they are Tamilians and they are not against Jallikattu. Moreover, she said that someone hacked her account and put up a post. They have been in the film industry for more than 15 years but have never faced such a difficult situation.
Trisha deactivated her Twitter account after it was hacked. She had to face the wrath for being a campaigner for animal rights organisation PETA from Jallikaatu supporters on social media.
On Saturday, a group of jallikattu supporters had protested against the actor while she was shooting for her film ‘Garjanai’. She was rescued from the place with police protection. Trisha had tweeted about the vulgar memes/posters about her that were doing the rounds, asking if disrespecting a woman was Tamil culture too.
Actor Trisha had said in a statement on Monday, “I made my stance very clear on my social networking account yesterday that I have never been against or opposed to Jallikattu. I am a proud Tamilian by birth and believe and respect in Tamil culture and tradition and would never go against the sentiments of my own people, who had been instrumental in my growth and stature.”
