As Trisha takes on vulgar trolls, Kollywood support pours in, from Kamal to Radikaa

After actor Trisha tweeted about the vitriolic and sexually abusive posters and memes that are doing the rounds about her, support has been pouring in from her colleagues in the industry, including those who support Jallikattu.

Trisha, who has had a long association with PETA, the animal rights organisation behind the Jallikattu ban, has come under fire on social media and off it.

On Friday, protesters stormed into the sets of Garjanai in Sivagangai where Trisha was shooting, forcing the actor to take refuge in her vanity van. The protesters shouted slogans and threatened that they wouldn’t allow the film to be shot anywhere in Tamil Nadu.

Following the actor’s tweets about the incident and the abuse that she has been facing, industry insiders like Silambarasan, Kamal Haasan, Chinmayi, Radikaa Sarath Kumar, and Arvind Swami have come forward to express their disagreement with the turn of events.

Kamal Haasan, who has been vocal about supporting Jallikattu, called for decency and said that indulging in such slander would only weaken the case.

Pls stop hurting MsTrisha.அவர்க்கும் நமக்குமுள வேற்றுமை ஊரறியட்டும் கன்னியும் வாழ நம் காளையும் வாழ வழி செய்வோம். தர்க்கம் தொடர்க நேசத்துடன்

My support is always for decency. Let individuals be . Dont weaken our case by slandering. Leave small people alone fight decesion makers.

Arvind Swami pointed out that bullying people for having an opinion was against democracy.

You may choose to disagree, but be respectful when u express that difference of opinion. What happpened to @trishtrashers is not OK.

Please do not abuse or bully people for having or expressing an opinion. That is the cornerstone of our democracy and you are here by choice
