“TN Governor improperly supports EPS” insinuates Stalin

DMK acting president Stalin has all but stated that the TN Governor is bowing to the whims of the hitherato unconstitutional EPS lead government.

In a strongly worded letter to the Governor, Stalin metioned “It is mandatory for your good self to hold the floor test immediately and without any further delay. If the present minority government is allowed to continue, it goes against the very basic constitutional tenets of parliamentary democracy and principles laid down by the Supreme Court,”

DMK added the threat of legal action if the governor does not act expeditiously. “This is the last time we are meeting the governor on this issue. We will wait for a week for him to act. If there is no announcement on convening the assembly, we will approach the court,” Stalin told reporters after calling on the governor at the Raj Bhavan. Citing recent meetings with Vidyasagar Rao, Stalin felt the inaction on the part of the governor may cast aspersions on his being impartial.

“We told the governor that while the DMK, the Congress and the IUML have a total of 98 MLAs, an additional 21 AIADMK legislators had expressed no confidence in the chief minister. Thus, there are 119 MLAs opposed to him and only 114 MLAs supporting him,” Stalin said.

For a person with impeccable background, it is surprising that the governor is acting in a manner that is sullying his name.
