Jawan viral video: Ex-serviceman files PIL in Delhi HC seeking status report of paramilitary forces

An ex-serviceman has filed a PIL in Delhi HC on Thursday seeking status report of all paramilitary forces in India over allegations of BSF soldier Tej Bahadur Yadav in his video. More details about the PIL are awaited.

In videos uploaded on social media platforms, the jawan from the 29 battalion Seema Suraksha Bal, wearing camouflage uniform and carrying a rifle, claimed that while government procures essentials for them, the higher-ups and officers “sell it off” in an “illegal” manner in the market and they have to suffer.

He had also alleged that troops are facing “cruelty” as they are served “bad quality” food and even have to go “empty stomach” at times.

Left red-faced, BSF on Wednesday came out with fresh guidelines for maintaining high quality of food for its personnel along the border as the Union Home Ministry directed it to file a complete report on allegations of substandard food made by a soldier posted along the LoC.
