Rajinikanth to resume shoot for Kaala

Rajinikanth, who was in the United States for a medical check-up, is now back in the city and will resume shooting for Ranjith’s gangster film, Kaala.

Sources say that the actor and his daughter Aishwaryaa had left the country after completing the first schedule, which was wrapped up on June 27, and returned to Chennai a couple of days ago.

CE learns that a special set resembling Mumbai’s famous Dharavi area has been put up for the film, and Pa Ranjith and the team are all set to continue the shoot there. In the film, Rajinikanth plays Karikalan, a don who stands up for the rights of Tamil people in Mumbai.

He appears in Kaala in the same salt-and-pepper look as in his previous film, Kabali. Rumour has it that, after completing Kaala, Rajini has plans to quit acting and become a full-time politician. However, there is no confirmation on this yet.
