Goli Soda sequel shoot begins

A still from Goli Soda

We’d told you earlier that cinematographer-director Vijay Milton has been busy writing an action-based script. And now, we have confirmation that this will be a sequel to his critically-acclaimed Goli Soda. The official shoot of the film began on Monday, and director Suseenthiran took to his micro-blogging page and wished Milton luck on his new project.

A source says, “His last two films—10 Endrathukulla and Kadugu didn’t fare well at the box-office, so he has carefully penned this script. We’ll be announcing the actors in a week. As of now, the famous Malayalam writer, Chemban Vinod Jose, is on board to play an important role.”

While it was widely speculated that it would be a sports film, Milton had told us that only a few portions would be about basketball. “It’s going to be an entertainer with all the necessary masala elements,” he had said.

Set against the backdrop of Koyambedu market in Chennai, Goli Soda was about four teenagers’ pursuit for identity. It was produced on a budget of about `2 crore, but managed to make over `15 crore in the first few weeks. Expectations are naturally high for this upcoming film.
