One dead on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Padmavati’

New Delhi: In yet another tragic incident, one labourer died on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming flick ‘Padmavati.

34-year-old Mukesh Dakia who was a painter fell from a height of five feet on head while painting on the sets of period drama. He was dedclared brought dead by the doctors at Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital on Friday.

As per the reports of leading daily The Indian Express,  the Accidental Death Report (ADR) was registered in Aarey Police Station, and investigation is underway.

The daily quoted  Shobha Santa, the CEO of Bhansali Productions saying, “What took place was extremely unfortunate and completely unforeseen. We are making every effort to help the victim and we grieve the death of the deceased.”

Filmmaker Bhansali has extended help to the deceased’s family and has condoled the loss of life.

Actress Deepika Padukone also condoled the death of the painter on micro-blogging site Twitter. She posted, “Shocked and saddened by the news…may his soul rest in peace and my most sincere condolences to his family.

The period drama will feature Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who fell in love with queen Padmavati. The film also features Shahid Kapoor as Raja Ratan Singh, the Rajput ruler and husband of Padmavati (enacted by Deepika Padukone).
