The audio launch of Rangoon, starring Gautham Karthik, recently took place in the city. The event had the actor talking excitedly about how this was the first time he’d danced for kuthu songs. The film’s music director, Vishal Chandrashekhar, meanwhile, spoke fondly about how they have had preserved the authenticity of the film by including Burmese lyrics in the songs.
Director AR Murugadoss, who is co-producing the movie along with Fox Star Studios, reserved his words to praise the lead actress. Recalling his experience as an assistant director on the sets of Simran’s first film, he said he is convinced that Sana can take Simran’s place. He also spoke about how the director of the movie, Rajkumar Periasamy, used to selflessly help him out in all his movies, regardless of whether he was a part of them or not.
Rajkumar, in turn, said how grateful he was to have found someone like Murugadoss, who considers his assistant directors to be a part of his family. He also reminisced wistfully about the title song Yathrika, written by the late Na Muthukumar.
