Swathi case, now a film

A film is underway based on the sensational Swathi murder case that shook the state last year. The venture is being produced by SK Subaiah under his banner Jaya Subhashree Productions and is titled Swathi Kolai Vazhaku.

The infamous murder of the young woman, during the wee hours of June 24 at the Nungambakkam railway station sent ripples across the state.

SD Ramesh, who directed Jananam with Arun Vijay, will be helming this project. The director says that while the film will be based on the real incident, some creative freedom taken.
“We will however present  the case as it happened.”

Swathi Kolai Vazhaku features Ajmal as Sakthi, a police inspector, who handles the investigation. Aayira will be donning the role of Swathi. Debutant Mano will be playing the role of the accused. Written by RP Ravi, the film will have Shyam T Raj composing the music.
