Editor Praveen KL out of Ranjith’s film?

Editor Praveen KL.

Editor Praveen KL, who was a part of Pa Ranjith’s last two films, Madras and Kabali, and was reportedly a part of his upcoming film with Rajinikanth, has apparently walked out of the project citing date issues. Pa Ranjith is known to retain his crew, and recently, Santhosh Narayanan, who has worked in all the director’s three films, confirmed that he was a part of this project too. Grapevine now has it that editor Sathish Suriya of Irudhi Suttru fame has replaced Praveen KL.

Praveen, who kickstarted this year with Vijay’s Bairavaa is busy with a number of projects such as Semma Botha Aagatha, Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, Karuppan, Kuppathu Raj and Rukkumani Vandi Varudhu. He’s also in discussions for Venkat Prabhu’s next production venture with Vadacurry director Saravana Rajan and is also doing Dulquer Salmaan’s cousin Maqbool Salmaan’s debut Tamil film. The editor was not available for comment.
While Ranjith’s last film, Kabali, focussed on the lives of Tamils in Malaysia, his upcoming film with the Superstar is said to focus on the plight of Tamil people in Mumbai. The crew is currently busy with pre-production.
