Amala Paul had earlier signed Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai but opted out, reportedly due to “date issues”. This has paved the way for Aishwarya Rajesh to play the female protagonist in the film, which has Dhanush in the lead. A source close to Aishwarya says “she’s on board.” Talking to CE, Amala’s manager says she has nine films including Queen, Thiruttu Payale 2, Cindrella, and Bhaskar Oru Rascal. “Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to allocate time for Vetrimaaran’s project.” A while ago, it was said that Amala was working on a specific slang for her character in the film.
