Indrajit Lankesh Questioned by CCB After Claims of Sandalwood Link to Drug Racket

Following his claims that many in the Kannada film industry were involved in dealing with and consuming illegal drugs, film maker Indrajit Lankesh appeared before officials of the Anti-Narcotics Wing of the CCB in Bengaluru on Monday. He was questioned on the claims and said he had shared details of ten to fifteen people who were involved in the drug racket.

Lankesh met ACP Goutham and Inspector Mallesh Bolettin at the CCB headquarters.

“We issued a notice to Indrajit Lankesh after his statements to the media. He has given us some information and also submitted evidence. We will look into these and decide on the further course of action, said Sandeep Patil, joint commissioner, CCB.

Musicians and actors in Bengaluru came under the scanner after the Narcotics Control Bureau bust three large drug syndicates involved in trafficking of MDMA in the last two weeks.

Total Seizure of 4317 MDMA pills along with 180 LSD Blots and an amount of Rs 2,20,500 was done by NCB, in Mumbai and Bangalore.

In Mumbai, MDMA pills were concealed in false cavities in the cardboard box containing a parcel of soft toys.

The drug was allegedly meant for supply in the party circuits in Mumbai and Bangalore. One of the traffickers had placed the order of MDMA pills online, in exchange of Bitcoins, the NCB said.
