Contrary to reports, Suriya won’t be part of the upcoming bilingual, Mahanati, a biopic on legendary South Indian actress Savitri. A source says, “Though it was true that he was considered for actor Gemini Ganesan’s role, it didn’t materialise. The makers are now considering another actor for the role.”
To be directed by Nag Ashwin, the film has Keerthy Suresh and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in important roles. The rest of the cast and crew are in the process of being finalised.
Keerthy’s casting was a surprise as the makers were initially keen on roping in Nithya Menen.
