Soundarya Rajinikanth rams into auto, saved from tense situation by Dhanush's presence of mind

Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, was involved in an accident on Tuesday morning, which led to a war of words with the driver of an auto who was injured. The tense situation was cooled down after actor Dhanush, a leading star in the Tamil film industry and Soundarya’s brother-in-law arrived on the scene and pacified the driver.

According to reports, Soundarya’s car rammed into an autorickshaw that was parked on the road in the Alwarpet locality. The driver suffered injuries and is said to have threatened to file an FIR against the Kochadaiiyan filmmaker.

Soundarya immediately reached out to her sister Aishwarya’s husband, Dhanush, who has a large fan following in Tamil Nadu and an image of being a humble person among his admirers, to help her out. Dhanush soon arrived on the scene and is said to have pacified the auto driver, promising to take care of his medical expenses and cash compensation for the damage suffered to his auto.

Soundarya Rajinikanth and Dhanush are not only related but are currently working on a project together. The film is a sequel to Dhanush’s superhit Vellai Illa Pattadhari (VIP), which was directed by Velraj and also stars Amala Paul.

VIP2 will be Soundarya Rajinikanth’s second directorial venture, after she debuted with Kochadaiiyan, which had her father Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone in the lead. Kochadaiiyan, however, did not do well at the box office.

Soundarya Rajnikanth is separated from her husband industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar. She had put out a post on Twitter on September 16, last year, stating that she had filed for divorce.

Here is a tidbit on Soundarya Rajinikanth and Dhanush’s upcoming film VIP2:

Vellai Illa Pattadhari 2 will star Dhanush and Amala Paul in leading roles, as in the prequel, with Kajol playing a negative role. Kajol is much loved in Tamil cinema, although she has acted in just one film, and that too 20 years ago. The 1997 hit film Minsara Kanavu starring Prabhu Deva and Arvind Swamy was a memorable hit of Kajol’s, but her roles in these two movies 20 years apart are as distant as they could be from each other.
