#NotMyDeepika TRENDS On Twitter! Deepika Padukone’s Fans Request Her Not To Work With Luv Ranjan

New Delhi: Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were spotted leaving filmmaker Luv Ranjan’s house on Friday night. After the duo was snapped by the paparazzi, reports of them working together in Luv Ranjan’s next film started doing the rounds on the internet. It was said that DP and Ranbir would team up once again for the film co-starring Ajay Devgn. The two tinsel town celebs have previously worked in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Tamasha’.

Hours after Deepika and Ranbir were spotted at Luv Ranjan’s place, her fans started the trended #NotMyDeepika on Twitter. They have requested the ‘Padmaavat’ actress to not work with Ranjan, who was accused of sexual misconduct by a woman last year.

Deepika Padukone’s fans have joined hands to start the movement and they are asking the ‘Piku’ star to reconsider her decision. Check out some of the tweets right here!

Being the top actress of your country you have many people looking upto you, it is YOUR responsibility to set the right example. Are you even aware of how you are gonna promote someone who has sexually harassed other women by working in his film? #NotMyDeepika

I refuse to believe that she signed this or is thinking whether to do it or not. We all know Deepika. This is not something she would do. #notmydeepika

On a side note if it were for any other actor or actress there would be zero backlash because most of them have zero credibility. Deepika has built a reputation for herself and her ideals. Her fans don’t just stan Deepika the actor but the Deepika the human being #notmydeepika

Do y’all remember this? She was sorry to let us fans down, despite it not being her fault. This is the Deepika i know & admire. I still believe she values us all too much & our opinions matter to her. @deepikapadukone i hope you won’t let us down this time. #notmydeepika pic.twitter.com/djaK5kkO4l

The fact that she meet him and find it in herself to even set and talk to him is disappointing enough for me but her doing this film will prove that she’s nothing less than hypocrite #notmydeepika

Being her fan for so many years, i’ve constantly seen her live upto her words. She’s not said one thing & done another or gone back on her words.I really really hope it remains the same.@deepikapadukone Pls don’t ruin the reputation & trust that took years to built. #notmydeepika

#notmydeepika trend is nothing against Deepika but against her working with a sexual predator. MILLIONS look up at her for many reasons, how she took a firm stand against working with a sexual assaulter before too, how she’s one of the most truthful honest & rare good person

In October 2018, during the pinnacle of the Indian #MeToo movement, an actress accused Luv Ranjan of asking her to strip to her innerwear during an audition. The filmmaker had denied the allegations of sexual harassment against him.

The ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ director later issued a statement which read, ‘’ “I apologise to whoever I have caused hurt, whoever I have not made feel comfortable enough. I apologise for not being able to communicate my intent. I apologise for not being able to make someone feel that I am the man that I have aspired to be and I believe I am.”

Deepika Padukone is yet to react to the trend on the micro-blogging site. The actress will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’, which is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
