Sunny Deol registered victory in his electoral debut contesting from Punjab’s Gurdaspur and he has been receiving congratulatory messages from the fans and the Bollywood celebrity friends. This included his half sister and the daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Esha Deol, who extended her congratulations for the big brother with a heart emoji this morning. Esha had taken to Twitter and wrote to Sunny- “Congratulations @iamsunnydeol my best wishes to u always [thumbs up sigh+smiling face+heart emoji]”.
Sunny Deol defeated Punjab Congress chief and sitting MP Sunil Jakhar by a margin of 82,459 votes in his maiden election.
Actor-father Dharmendra had also sent his warm congratulatory wishes to wife Hema Malini and son Sunny Deol on Thursday post both their wins.
Hema Malini retained her Mathura Lok Sabha seat by defeating RLD candidate Kunwar Narendra Singh by a margin of 2,93,471 votes. While the actor-turned-politician got 6,71,293 votes, Singh, her nearest rival, received 3,77,822 votes.

Dharmendra’s children and Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, born to his first wife Prakash Kaur, are not seen bonding or even spotted in the same picture with their step sisters Esha And Ahana Deol, born to the legendary actor’s second wife Hema Malini. But reportedly both Sunny-Bobby have been fond of their two younger sisters but the complexities between the two families always come to work in some demanding situations. The brothers even missed Esha’s wedding to avoid any unpleasant situation.
Esha had even wished Sunny Deol good luck when he had joined BJP last month.
