It’s official! Kareena Kapoor Khan to play a cop in Irrfan Khan’s ‘Angrezi Medium’!

New Delhi: Fans waiting for the release of Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Angrezi Medium’ got another reason to cheer as Kareena Kapoor Khan has been roped in to play a cop in the film. Indian film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, shared the news through his Twitter handle. “IT’S OFFICIAL… Kareena Kapoor Khan in Angrezi Medium… She plays a cop in the film… Stars Irrfan Khan… Directed by Homi Adajania… Produced by Dinesh Vijan… Angrezi Medium will be filmed in London this June,” he tweeted.

Dinesh Vijan too confirmed the same and said in a statement that, “Kareena is a great addition to our franchise! Angrezi medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she’s going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come,and she’s perfect for it. Here she plays a cop, a role she’s actually never done before! We will be shooting in London this June, and it will be great to be back on set with her.

Irrfan Khan is all smiles on the sets of Angrezi Medium

‘Angrezi Medium’ is the sequel to the 2017 hit film ‘Hindi Medium’, in which Irrfan Khan played the role of a rich businessman from Delhi. Pakistani actress Saba Qamar was starred alongside Irrfan.

‘Angrezi Medium’ marks the comeback of Irrfan on big screen post a break that he took, as he was seeking treatment for a neuroendocrine tumour in London. He will be playing a ‘mithai wala’ in the film.

Meanwhile, ‘Patakha’ fame Radhika Madan plays Irrfan’s daughter.

The film is being helmed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan.

Irrfan was last seen in debutant Akarsh Khurana’s ‘Karwaan’ alongside Mithila Parker and Dulquer Salmaan.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor wrapped up shooting for her upcoming flick ‘Good News’ which is set to release on September 6.
