Sabaash Naidu postponed indefinitely

From the word go, nothing has quite worked in the favour of Kamal Haasan’s Sabaash Naidu, the trilingual spin-off on the popular character Balram Naidu from Dasavatharam (2008). The shoot came to an abrupt halt in July last year, after Kamal fractured his leg at the office. After weeks of treatment and physiotherapy, it was believed that the shooting will resume from January. Unfortunately, there’s still no official update on the shoot. However, our sources have said that the shoot will take much longer to resume than expected.

“Even if the team decides to resume shooting from next week, it would take a minimum of six-eight weeks to get visas for the American crew. Moreover, the dates of other actors should also be taken in to consideration. The rest of the actors have moved on to other commitments. Hence the shooting has been postponed indefinitely for now and the team might not get on floors anytime soon. Having successfully completed the first schedule in Los Angeles, the makers are planning to shoot in Hyderabad next,” a source from the film’s unit told CE. The film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Shruti Haasan,
Brahmanandam and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles.
This is not the first time the film has faced a setback. It was originally launched with director
TK Rajeev Kumar who, owing to ill health, had to be replaced. Left with no option, Haasan decided to take over the directorial reins. It was also rumoured that the film’s editor and cinematographer
were replaced post the first schedule. But the news still remains a mystery.
