I have been accepted wholeheartedly: Aanchal

Bollywod actor Anchal Munjal will be making her Kollywood debut with Sei, and she feels lucky to have been accepted wholeheartedly into the industry. She said, “I have heard stories that people in the south are not kind or polite to North Indians, especially if they don’t know the language (Tamil).

Fortunately, the experience was the exact opposite when I worked on the film. My director and cinematographer were very friendly. They’d wish me every morning and their smile was motivating enough to shoot through the day. I never felt sidelined.”

Sei’s script motivated her to sign the project. She hasn’t followed southern film industry keenly. “I have seen the works of Dhanush and Dulquer (Salmaan). I also know Allu Arjun and Vijay; I have seen the Hindi dubbed version of their films.”

Talking about why she signed the film, she explained, “I found the crux of the story interesting and when I heard the narration, I realised this is the type of cinema I wanted to do. While the script was amazing, my role was great too.”

While she remains tight-lipped about her character, assuring that she has a storng role, Aanchal said she wants to experiment with different characters. “As an actor, I know what I’m capable of. I have played a variety of characters on TV as a kid. If the story can go on without your character, it means your role has no value. I want to be part of stories that can’t move forward without my character.”
