Gully Boy Box Office Collection: Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt’s film witnesses a DIP on day two; MINTS Rs 13.10 cr

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gully Boy’ started on an impressive note at the box office. The Zoya Akhtar directorial, which released on February 14, minted Rs 19.40 crore on its opening day, witnessed a dip on the second day. The much-awaited flick collected Rs 13.10 crore on Friday, taking its total box office collection to Rs 32.50 crore. Despite the dip, the film managed to mint over Rs 30 crore, which is an amazing feat in itself.

‘Gully Boy’ received rave reviews from the critics and fans and it is already reflecting in its box office. The film has managed to set the cash registers jingling and trade pundits were expecting it do have a healthy first weekend box office collection.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Gully Boy’s box office collection on Twitter.

‘Gully Boy’, which was released across 3350 screens in India, focused on the story of Murad Sheikh (Ranveer), who beats all the odds to fulfil his dreams of becoming a successful rapper. The film is loosely based on the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy.

‘Gully Boy’ has turned out to be Ranveer’s second biggest opener at the box office. Before ‘Gully Boy’, Ranveer was seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ opposite Sara Ali Khan. The action drama had collected Rs 20.72 crore on the first day.

Ranveer Singh has delivered back-to-back hits in the form of ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’. It remains to be seen if the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor manages to score a hat-trick with ‘Gully Boy’ or not.
