Bharathiraja lauds Kanavu Variyam director

A still form the fi lm

Veteran fi lmmaker Bharathiraja launched the trailer and songs of Kanavu Variyam recently. Speaking on the occasion, the ace director said, “These days youngsters reproduce Hollywood fi lms in Tamil. But, Arun Chidambaram (the director-actor), despite having studied and lived in the US, has come up with a fi lm for the Tamil audience.”

Bharathiraja also praised Arun for the way he has captured some of the village scenes. He said, “From the trailer, I could see that the fi lm is meant for ‘the Tamil soil and culture’. Even for my fi lms Kizhakke Pogum Rail (1978) and Puthiya Vaarpugal (1979), I had shot in villages. You can never see those kids of villages now on the screen.”
