Saare Jahaan Se Achcha: Shah Rukh Khan is NOT quitting the film, says writer Anjum Rajabali

New Delhi: Before the release of Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’, it was said that Shah Rukh Khan’s next film will be ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’. Although, the makers of the film didn’t officially announce the project, SRK had confirmed his presence. Aamir Khan, who was earlier approached for the Rakesh Sharma biopic, had also confirmed that King Khan is doing the film. However, gossip mills have been buzzing with the rumours that Shah Rukh has opted out of the film which will be produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala.

It was said that the ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ actor has chosen to be part of Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’ over ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’. Movie buffs were excited to see SRK in the role of cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma. The reports of the ‘Chennai Express’ star quitting the film disappointed them.

As per the latest buzz, Shah Rukh has not opted out of the biopic and the reports of him quitting the film are not true.

‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’ writer Anjum Rajabali, while talking to an entertainment portal, confirmed that the ‘Raees’ actor is very much part of the film.

‘’No, it’s fake news,’’ Anjum told Cinestaan.

Shah Rukh Khan’s last release ‘Zero’ couldn’t set the box office on fire, despite its storyline and star-studded cast.  Talking about the third installment of ‘Don’, there is no news about the film. Farhan Akhtar, during the trailer launch of ‘Gully Boy’, had teased about a special announcement and speculations were rife that it was about ‘Don 3’. However, it seems the announcement was regarding his upcoming boxing drama ‘Toofan’. The film will be helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who earlier directed ‘Bhaag Milka Bhaag’.
