Hrithik Roshan is celebrating his 45th Birthday today and what better gift than this could be for the ‘Super 30’ actor that his father is “up and about” as reads his caption to the first picture of dad posing with family post surgery. Hrithik Roshan’s veteran actor-filmmaker father Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with first stage cancer ‘Squamous Cell Carcionma of the thorat’, post which he underwent surgery on Tuesday.
Hrithik had taken to his social media profile to reveal this with a gym picture with dad two days ago right before the surgery and had written – “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. Love you Dad.”
The same day Rakesh Roshan underwent surgery and Hrithik in response to PM Modi’s good wishes message to him on Twitter, wrote later in the day- “Thank you Sir for your concern and good wishes. I am very happy to inform that according to the doctors his surgery has gone off well. [folded hands emoji]”.
And now the father finally poses for a happy picture with the family on his son’s 45th Birthday and we are loving it.
Hrithik posted the picture on Facebook 30 mins ago and wrote in the caption – “And he’s up and about???? Power of love! Thank you all for being with him and helping him power through. Today was a great day.”
In the group picture, Hrithik poses with dad Rakesh Roshan, mom Pinky Roshan, uncle Rajesh Roshan, one of his sons and other family members and the smiling picture looks absolutely awesome.
Rakesh Roshan in his first message post his surgery, had said in his message sent to IANS on the following day – “I am feeling all right, thank you. Surgery is done and all is okay. God is great. I am going to be back home on Friday or Saturday.“

A source close to the “Krrish” maker had also revealed: “Ever since the diagnosis, Rakeshji has been upbeat cheerful and not at all daunted by the setback. He went into surgery with his wife, brother (composer Rajesh Roshan), son Hrithik and daughter Sunaina by his side and the surgery went smoothly. He is expected home by the end of this week.“
