If sources close to the unit of Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram are to go by, actress Anu Emmanuel who was originally signed on to be paired with Vikram, has walked out of the project and has been subsequently replaced by Ritu Varma of Telugu hit Pellichoopulu fame.
“Ritu has already started shooting for the project. Anu chose to leave because she had dates issue as the project’s shoot was getting pushed due to Vikram’s sudden decision to commence work on his next film with Vijay Chander,” a source told CE.
Gautham Menon had approached Ritu for the Tamil remake of Pellichoopulu in his production.
Unfortunately, the offer eventually went to Tamannaah but the Kaakha Kaakha filmmaker was in touch with Ritu, and when Anu wanted to exit Dhruva Natchathiram, he brought her on board.
“Ritu and Vikram don’t play typical hero and heroine kind of roles. They share a very mature relationship in the film and that will be one of the highlights.”
Meanwhile, the team of Dhruva Natchathiram recently returned from Coonor after successfully completing the first schedule.
