Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married in a grand wedding ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace on December 1 and 2, much to the joy of the fans. While the whole world was celebrating NickYanka’s wedding, a distasteful article was published by The Cut and it called PeeCee a ‘modern-day scam artist’. The piece, written by Mariah Smith, was criticized by celebs and fans on social media for portraying the ‘Quantico’ actress in poor light. Breaking her silence on the same, Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has said that she doesn’t want to get affected during a happy phase.
“I am happy that my daughter is married to someone she truly loves. I don’t want to give publicity to those fools. There are some donkeys who do anything they feel like, but their actions don’t affect us,” Madhu was quoted as saying by Filmfare.
“All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist,” one of the portions of the now deleted article read.
The writer, Mariah Smith issued an apology on Twitter after she faced backlash for her article on social media.

While Nick is yet to react to the article, Priyanka didn’t pay much heed to it.
‘’I don’t even want to react or comment. It’s not even in my stratosphere. I’m in a happy place at this moment. These kind of random things can’t disturb it,” the Bollywood diva told Hindustan Times at the launch of Bumble dating app in Delhi.
Various celebs including Nick’s brother Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, Sonam Kapoor, Sona Mohapatra and Swara Bhaskar had slammed the offensive article.
Talking about the newlywed couple, Priyanka and Nick will host a wedding reception in Mumbai for their Bollywood friends on December 20. The two lovebirds had hosted a grand reception in Delhi earlier this month. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attended the reception party to give his best wishes to the couple.
