No one should interfere in age-old traditions of Sabarimala, says Rajinikanth

Super Star Rajinikanth, on Saturday said no one should interfere in age-old traditions of Sabarimala shrine. Rituals have been followed from time immemorial in our society, and they should be followed seriously, added the star. He said, he respects the Supreme Court, however, rituals are sacred.

Kerala’s Sabarimala temple has been at the centre of a controversy after the Supreme Court passed a verdict allowing women of menstrual age to enter the shrine.

Following the top court’s order, the temple was set to open for devotees, including women, at 5pm on Wednesday. However, a sea of protestors refused to let the women of the restricted age group enter the temple. 

Answering to the question on the launch of his new party, he said 90 per cent of work has been completed, but he will not make any formal announcements regarding the party flag or name of on his birthday, December 12.
