Bahubali 2 rakes in Rs 500 crore months before release, know how

New Delhi: National Award-winning director SS Rajamouli is ready with one of the most daunting questions of cinema, ‘Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?’ Well, we are talking about magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2, if media reports are anything to go by the film has made Rs 500 crore even before hitting the screen.

According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the most anticipated movie of 2017 has made humongous pre-release business merely by selling theatrical and satellite rights. Film whose Hindi version will be brought to you by Dharma Productions, release simultaneously in three other languages-Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Baahubali 2 starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah’s theatrical rights of Hindi version has made a whopping Rs 120 crore.

As per Indian Express report, film has minted more than Rs 130 crore from sale of theatrical rights in Telugu region. Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, film’s distribution rights have fetched Rs 47 crore, in Karnataka Rs 45 crore and in Kerala Rs 10 crore. Filmmakers have inked record-breaking deal with Sony TV Network by selling satellite rights of Hindi version for Rs 51 crore.

Baahubali: The Conclusion which is sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning will release on April 28. The price of sequel has skyrocketed due to the popularity of its first part.
