The teaser of Vetrimaaran and Dhanush’s gangster trilogy ‘Vada Chennai’ was launched today on Dhanush’s birthday. The two are collaborating for the third time after ‘Polladhavan’ and ‘Aadukalam’ for this film, which is said to be the first part of a trilogy.
It’s worth noting that the film was in pre-production stage for years as shooting schedules were delayed due to several factors including ‘Visaaranai’ getting nominated for the Oscars, and Dhanush’s commitments.

Going by the teaser, Vada Chennai looks like a gangster drama that has Dhanush playing the role of a carrom player, who gets drawn into a mafia gang unwillingly. Set in the 1970s, the first part looks to be extensively shot in North Chennai. Apart from Dhanush, the film also stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Andrea Jeremiah, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, and Karunas.
