Anirudh and Vivek-Mervin to compose music for children’s adventure film

Express News Service

Harish Ram, former assistant of director Durai Senthilkumar, will be making his directorial debut with a one-of-a-kind children’s adventure film. The young filmmaker has roped in Anirudh and the Vivek-Mervin duo to compose the music for his film. Talking about the idea of bringing these composers together, Harish says, “The film demanded composers with different musical styles. The story begins in a city and then moves to the forest, where a major portion of the film happens. So to show variations in the scenes located in the forest, I had to employ a lot of techniques. Roping in multiple composers is the most important of these; it gets half the job done for me.” He also clarifies that though Vivek-Mervin have worked with Anirudh in the past (as audio engineers), they will be working independently on the songs for this film. “We are yet to finalise who among them will be composing the background score,” he adds.

The yet-to-be-titled film was launched yesterday. “It’s a fun adventure film made for families and kids. It features a computer-generated tiger as the protagonist. Though the film has 65 per cent VFX portions, I am pretty sure the audience will find it realistic,” says Harish.

The director and his crew have already spent five months on pre-production work, and plan to begin shooting from October. They will announce the title and the principal cast of the film at that time.

Harish adds, “Since I’m from the school of Durai Senthilkumar, I will make sure all my films have an underlying social message presented in an enjoyable way. This film will talk about the importance of forest conservation and the need for safeguarding wildlife.”
