The Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council(TFPC) strike over the high prices charged by digital service providers (DSPs) has been called off on Tuesday.
TFPC after discussions with the state government, distributors and digital service providers has decided to call off the strike after reaching a consensus over the issues.
Addressing the media, TFPC president Vishal said that QUBE’s E-cinema rates have come down by 50 percent and that there has been a flat reduction in the VPF rates.
He also said that the state government will be passing a Government Order soon to computerize ticketing all over the state from June 1 to bring in transparency.
Vishal also said that the TFPC has decided to start a new ticketing website to reduce the burden of online ticket booking charges.
The TFPC president also said that the official announcement on resuming shooting and release of movies, which have been halted due the strike, will be announced on Wednesday.
Since March 1, no major Tamil flick has released due to the issue of service providers with cinema hall owners forced to show old movies or films of other languages including English and Hindi.
