We had told you that filmmaker Vijay of Madrasapattinam (2010) fame would be directing Madhavan and Sai Pallavi in a yet-to-be-titled film that will begin its shoot in March.
Co-producer Shruti Nallapa tells CE, “Vijay is busy shooting Jayam Ravi’s Vanamagan abroad. When he comes here in March, we’ll start shooting our film.”
Though the team has got the official remake rights of the Malayalam hit film Charlie (2015), she adds the director has worked on the script a lot and changed it according to the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. “Our film is inspired by Charlie’s storyline.”
Mumbai-based Pramod Films, who produced Bollywood projects like Jugnu (1973) and Azaad (1998), will be bankrolling this one.
The romantic film will have music composed by Leon James. “We’re happy to work with Madhavan as he’s the apt choice. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. We are planning to begin the first schedule in Ooty.” —SS
