Dhanush, National Award winning actor has urged fans to not speculate about the release date of his sequel to the hit Tamil film ‘Velai Illa Pattadhari’.
The actor wrote on his Twitter handle:
” Requesting fans nd media not 2 speculate d release date of #vip2.Will announce myself today at 7.Thank u 4 your understanding nd patience. “
The film was earlier supposed to hit the screens on July 28th but was postponed due to unknown reasons.

Director of the film, Soundarya Rajinikanth had earlier tweeted that the film’s release date has been pushed due to inevitable reasons.
She wrote:
“I extend my regrets to inform all Dhanush sir fans and cinema lovers that VIP2’s release is being pushed for the first half od August due to inevitable reasons. Thanks for all the patience and understanding. Will announce the confirmed release date very soon.”

The postponement apparently, created confusion among fans with many speculating the clash of the film with Ajith Kumar’s action-thriller, ‘Vivegam’ which was supposed to release on August 10th.
According to the recent development, ‘Vivegam’ will release on August 24th, 2017 after the Censor Board passed the film with a U/A certificate. ‘VIP 2’ retains most of the cast from the prequel including The sequel brings Bollywood actress Kajol in a major role to Tamil film industry after a gap of almost two decades.
