From a fire outbreak to a road accident, one can face any emergency case and seek help. The government has taken several steps to provide immediate assistance to citizens during the crisis. Many government departments provide the facility of helpline numbers, so that citizens can get immediate help in case of emergency by calling these numbers.

By giving immediate information to the police and disaster management, one can seek immediate help. There is no need to spend any money on these calls; one can call these numbers even when there’s no balance on their phones, because all these numbers are toll-free. 1. In case of a fire at home, office, or any public place, one can dial toll-free number 101 to call the fire brigade. This is the number of the fire department.

2. The government has started toll-free number 102, so that people can get immediate medical care in case of an emergency. Apart from this, one can also get medical facilities in an emergency by dialling 108.

3. In case of any emergency while travelling by road, one can seek help from the traffic police by calling toll-free number 103. One can also seek help from the police by calling 112.

4. The government has issued a toll-free number, 1072, to get help in case of a train accident. Any person can get the necessary help by giving information about a train accident to this number.

5. In case of a road accident, a call can be made to number 1073 for help.

6. A women’s helpline is also prevalent in the country. Women can report any kind of atrocity or exploitation by calling the toll-free numbers 1090/1091.

7.1098 is a toll-free number to report child abuse.

8. Nowadays, people are being cheated a lot online. In case of cyber fraud, help can be taken by calling the toll-free number 1930. By calling this number, one can get guidance, report cyber crimes, and get help from trained professionals.

9. If LPG is leaking from the cylinder in one’s home, shop, or hotel, then one can now lodge a complaint on the emergency helpline number 1906. This complaint will be registered in the control room located in New Delhi.
