Oil marketing companies are offering a Rs 5 discount to customers that book and pay for their LPG cylinders online, in a bid to push digital transactions.
OMCs likely Indian Oil, BPCL, and HPCL will offer a Rs 5 discount by paying online through net banking, and credit and debit cards while booking their refills online.
“Under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, it is the endeavour of all Oil Marketing Companies to aim to encourage consumers to increasingly shift to such payment modes through digital platforms to achieve the objective of no-cash or less-cash based transactions. The incentive will encourage more and more LPG consumers to go for cashless mode transactions,” the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
