At the foreign exchange market, the rupee firmed up by 19 paise to 67 points 79 against the US dollar today. Yesterday, the rupee had appreciated by 10 paise to close at 67.98 against the American currency.
At the stock market, the sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell by 50 points to 35,381 in the opening trade. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange was trading 25 points down at 10715, a short while ago.
