The BSE Sensex surrendered its initial gains to trade lower by over 160 points a short while ago.
The 30-share Sensex was trading at 34,683 showing a loss of 165 points, or 0.48 per cent.
The broader Nifty index was trading at 10,537, down 59 points, or 0.56 per cent.
