Retail inflation dips to 4.28 percent in March

Retail inflation has dipped to 4(point)28 percent in March from 4(point)44 per cent in February.

According to the data released by the Central Statistics Office, CSO, today, prices of vegetables, other food times and beverages softened.

The rate of increase in price rise slowed for the third consecutive month after hitting a fresh high of 5.2 percent growth in December and 5.07 percent in January due to unusual pick up in food prices and rise in domestic petrol and diesel prices.

The CSO data also showed that Industrial Production expanded by 7.1 per cent in February compared to 1.2 per cent in the same month last year.

In January, it expanded by 7.5 per cent.
