Tata Motors has launched its latest offing, the Hexa crossover SUV, at an introductory starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Prices for the top trim go up to Rs 17.49 lakh.
Tata Motors said the Hexa, which will mark the carmaker’s entry into the crossover segment, will have a waiting period for about eight weeks.
While the crossover was launched on Wednesday, Tata Motors had already started accepting bookings for the Hexa at a token amount of Rs 11,000. According to ZeeBiz, Tata Motors while launching the car said, “pre-bookings suggest 60% have gone for automatic transmission than manual.”
The Hexa will be available in six trims including one 4×4 option.
The six trims are: XE, XMA, XM, XT, XTA and XT 4×4.
The Hexa will be available in two engine variants the VARICOR400 and VARICOR320, which are both 2.2 litre BS IV diesel engines. The VARICOR400 engine churns out a power of 154bhp and 400Nm torque, while the VARICOR320 dishes out 148bhp and 320Nm torque.
While the VARICOR400 engine will be available with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission, the VARICOR320 engine will come with a 5-speed manual transmission. Hexa also comes with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
