Tripura’s finance minister Bhanulal Saha has said that the state government has no plan to reduce VAT charge on petroleum products. While interacting with media at state secretariat he said that the government will not decrease the VAT unless the central government gives any relief.
He said that the state government is earning revenues of nearly 100-150 crores rupees per annum from the petroleum products in the state. He further added that if the central government reduces the excise taxes then the state can take initiative this regard.
