RBI extends ATM withdrawal limit to Rs 10,000 per day, Rs 1 lakh from current accounts

In a relief for citizens facing the heat of the cash crunch, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has hiked the withdrawal limit from ATMs from the current limit of Rs 4,500 to Rs 10,000 per day per card.

Disclosing the enhanced values in a press release, the apex bank has stated that limit on withdrawal from current accounts has been enhanced from the current limit of Rs 50,000 per week to Rs 1,00,000 per week and this has been extended to overdraft and cash credit account too.

On November 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Along with this, the Prime Minister had announced a restriction limit to Rs 4,500 from ATMs per week per card.
